We finally got news I think we have all been waiting for, traditional character meet and greets will be returning! As early as April 18, Disney will start reintroducing traditional character greetings at Disneyland, and Walt Disney World Resorts, as well as aboard Disney Cruise Line and at Aulani Resort in Hawaii.

Very soon, Guests will once again be able to hug Mickey Mouse, get an autograph from Mulan, and share a laugh with Goofy. We know many of you have missed these special moments, and your Disney character friends have missed you, too! While not all locations will be available immediately, they anticipate reopening these experiences in phases throughout the spring and early summer.

The company stated that "During the past two years, we’ve taken a very gradual, intentional approach to health and safety protocols. Recent trends and guidance have provided opportunities for us to bring back some of our most beloved magic, like character greetings and dining experiences."

This makes me think we will also see more traditional styled character dining come back too! If you had never done a character dining experience pre-covid, the characters would normally stop at every table to interact, take pictures and sign autographs with guests.

This is great news for guests who have been waiting to visit the parks until they could stand side-by-side with their favorite characters again! If you or your family like to do meet-and-greets, I would make sure to pack those autograph books if you are planning to visit the Disney parks this summer!
